ISO 14001 – Introduction

ISO 14001 defines requirements for environmental management system (EMS). The basic content of the standard is environmental protection and the prevention of pollution.

While not establishing any absolute requirements for the organisation’s environmental performance, the standard places the emphasis on compliance with legal requirements concerning the individual components of the environment (water, air, soil, waste, etc.) and on the identification of all possible aspects with an impact on the environment.
