IATF 16949 – Introduction

Developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), the IATF 16949 standard defines and extends the ISO 9001-based quality management system requirements in the production of parts for the automotive industry while also establishing customer-specific requirements in the industry.

IATF 16949 emphasises a process-oriented system based on continuous improvement, defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
